X-rays

Throughout my dental treatments, X-rays were taken at my orthodontist's and surgeon's clinics. Despite my reluctance to show them to the whole world, I have decided to show them to you for those who will undergo orthodontic treatments and an orthognathic surgery so they can see what to expect.

The below images were obtained during a 3D imaging (scan) session at my surgeon's clinic on February 13, 2012. They show impressive details about my facial bones!

Marie-Hélène Cyr - 3D scan (front) after orthodontic treatments and orthognathic surgeries (February 13, 2012)

Front view: We can clearly see the 4 plates screwed in my maxilla, both screws in each side of my mandible and the plate screwed in my chin.

Marie-Hélène Cyr - 3D scan (45 degrees right profile) after orthodontic treatments and orthognathic surgeries (February 13, 2012)

45 degrees right profile view: It's impressive to see the screws in my mandible, among others! We can also see that my mandible has recalcified completely where it was cut.

Marie-Hélène Cyr - 3D scan (right profile) after orthodontic treatments and orthognathic surgeries (February 13, 2012)

Right profile view: It's as impressive to see that the chin bone still has a "notch" 4 years after my genioplasty!

Marie-Hélène Cyr - 3D scan (45 degrees left profile) after orthodontic treatments and orthognathic surgeries (February 13, 2012)

45 degrees left profile view: Fortunately, I don't feel my plates and screws (except if I touch them directly), I would have a lot of long-term discomforts in the face!

Marie-Hélène Cyr - 3D scan (left profile) after orthodontic treatments and orthognathic surgeries (February 13, 2012)

Left profile view: 4 years after my orthognathic surgeries, my occlusion is still very good.
